| Parent Workshop |
It is understood that parents play a key role in making the process of separation and/or divorce a smooth transition for children. It is for this reason that after the children have spent Friday evening through Sunday morning amongst their peers, learning, sharing and having fun, that their parents are strongly encouraged to join us all at the camp to participate in parents-only workshops.
Session
The Parent Workshop is a vital aspect of the WillAbbi Camps experience. These seminars are conducted by our clinicians who impart tools parents can use to manage the many and varied challenges of raising children in a two-home or two-family framework at various developmental stages.
Sunday Parent Workshops may include the following topics:
- Active Listening/Communication with Children
- Creating and Maintaining Smooth Transfers
- Loss/Grieving
- Inter-Parental Conflict: The Impact on Children
- Importance of Mediated Parenting Plans
- New Partners/Step-Parenting
