WillAbbi Camps strive to connect, inspire and educate children and parents of separated or divorced families.
Introduction
WillAbbi Camps are weekend-long educational workshops in a sleepaway camp setting for children of separated or divorced families. Held at the Tim Horton Onondaga Farms Outdoor Experiential Education Centre, WillAbbi Camps provide opportunities for children ages 9-14 to meet and share experiences with others from similar circumstances and/or family structures.
Children with a major lifestyle factor in common often share a bond that can provide inspiration and encouragement through a potentially challenging time. The focus of WillAbbi Camps is to provide opportunities to strengthen these bonds through positive, fun and learning-based experiences.
WillAbbi Camps recognizes the importance of parents in making the separation or divorce process a smooth and healthy transition for children. It is for this reason that WillAbbi Camps also provide parent-only workshops which impart useful tips and strategies for making this potentially challenging period a little easier for the whole family.
Separation and/or divorce can be a multifaceted experience for families, especially for children. Some families experience few challenges throughout the separation and/or divorce process. However, other families may experience a multitude of challenges translating into a very difficult and trying transition for the whole family. Children and parents of both circumstances are welcome and encouraged to attend WillAbbi Camps as all can benefit from the WillAbbi Camps experience.
